September Update: Building a Better Adventurer's Arsenal
Hey fellow adventurers!
Over the past month, I've been hard at work here at Adventurers Arsenal, striving to enhance our offerings and make your Pathfinder 2e experience even more exciting. Here's a glimpse into what's been brewing in our workshop:
Expanding the Card Arsenal
I've been burning the midnight oil crafting an extensive backlog of item cards. The goal is to ensure we have consistent monthly releases, so you'll always have fresh content to enrich your tabletop adventures. Right now the backlog is sitting at 50 or so cards split across the five card categories. My aim is to get this number to around 100 cards over the next two months.
I am also accepting any special card requests to add to the backlog. Do you want your homebrew item transformed into a digital card? Visit our request a card page and submit your request today.
Embracing Feedback from the Community
Your feedback is invaluable to me, and I've been actively seeking your thoughts and suggestions on card designs, formatting, and overall functionality. Platforms like Reddit and Facebook have been buzzing with discussions, and I've been taking notes.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, and it's clear that users are eagerly anticipating the release of our first card pack. As I reviewed the feedback, I noticed a distinct pattern emerging, with two specific types of comments standing out.
D&D 5e and Pathfinder 1e Conversions
The most notable request from our feedback sessions has been to provide conversions of our cards for D&D 5e and Pathfinder 1e. While this is an exciting prospect, I want to be upfront about the challenges involved. While I'm considering it, this won't be available with the initial launch due to time constraints and questions around legality.
Converting the cards will probably necessitate some design adjustments. For instance, in Pathfinder 1e, there's no concept of Item level, and D&D 5e features more than four rarity types, which differ from our current designs. While these challenges aren't insurmountable obstacles, they could introduce significant delays to the initial card set's release. My primary objective is to establish a substantial backlog of Pathfinder 2e cards, enabling me to allocate dedicated time for converting and crafting item cards tailored to Dungeons and Dragons 5e and Pathfinder 1e.
Item Card Monetization
Many of you have expressed your willingness to purchase these item cards. I appreciate the support, but I want to reiterate that my vision for Adventurers Arsenal is to keep this resource free indefinitely. If you're inclined to support the project, you're welcome to join our upcoming Patreon community, but I'll never put these cards behind a paywall.
Furthermore, some users have put forth the idea of incorporating our cards into Pathfinder's Infinite webstore. While I'm open to exploring this option, I want to emphasise that if we decide to move forward with it, these cards will remain freely accessible without any associated price tag.
Sneak Peek: Upcoming Releases
Now, the moment you've all been eagerly anticipating – a sneak peek at some of the cards I've got in store for our upcoming release within the next two weeks. Feast your eyes on these tantalizing previews of what's to come in our first launch:
Behind the Scenes
I'm offering a glimpse behind the curtain – a sneak peek into my workspace within Photoshop. Below, you can see how I organize each card meticulously. They're sorted into their individual folders, with an array of sub-folders containing all the relevant layers essential for customizing the card's look and feel. This streamlined approach to design not only ensures precision but also significantly reduces the time required to bring each card to life.
That’s all for this update, thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Adventurers Arsenal wouldn't be what it is without you. Stay tuned for the upcoming releases, and as always, keep the adventure alive!
